Clubhouse Responsible Gambling Controls and Practical Player Protection
Our player-protection framework gives you direct controls over money, session time, marketing and continued account access.
Last Updated: 30 July 2026
We treat gambling as paid entertainment with a real possibility of loss. It is not a source of income, a way to clear debt or a reliable method of recovering money already lost. Every game contains a house edge or a mathematical return model, and previous rounds do not make the next result more likely to favour the player.
1. Eligibility and protection of minors
You must be at least 18 and legally permitted to gamble where you live. We can request identity and age evidence and close an underage account. Parents and guardians should protect payment credentials, use device passwords and install filtering controls on phones, tablets and computers used by minors.
2. Controls available through your account
2.1 Deposit limits
Set a maximum amount that can be deposited during the period offered in account settings. A lower limit can take effect promptly. An increase or removal can involve a cooling period and review so it does not become an immediate response to a loss.
2.2 Loss and wager limits
A loss limit caps net losses over a selected period. A wager limit controls the total amount staked, including repeated use of the same balance. These tools measure different behaviour, so a player who wants tighter control can use both.
2.3 Session limits and reality checks
Session limits end or interrupt play after the selected time. Reality checks display elapsed time and account activity, then require a decision to continue or leave. Set the interval before opening a game.
2.4 Cooling-off
Cooling-off temporarily suspends access for the period selected. Use it when play has become reactive, when a planned budget has ended or when gambling is interfering with sleep, work or relationships.
2.5 Self-exclusion and account closure
Self-exclusion blocks the account for the chosen or indefinite period and suppresses direct marketing connected with that account. Ordinary reopening requests do not override an active exclusion. Account closure ends standard use but can retain the records required for payments, legal duties and exclusion enforcement.
2.6 Marketing preferences
Turn off promotional email, SMS and push messages in account preferences or through support. Security, verification and payment messages can still be sent because they administer the account.
3. Change a limit before the next deposit
Open account settings or contact 24/7 live chat. State the control, amount and period required. Decreases should be applied without using continued play as a condition. An increase can take longer because immediate reversal weakens the purpose of the limit.
Keep screenshots or written confirmation of important requests. If a control does not appear correctly, stop depositing and contact support with the registered email and request time.
4. Signs that gambling is causing harm
Pay attention when you:
- spend more money or time than planned;
- raise stakes after a loss;
- borrow, sell possessions or miss bills to gamble;
- hide account activity from family or friends;
- feel restless, angry or anxious when not playing;
- return immediately after trying to stop;
- use gambling to escape stress, grief or financial pressure;
- neglect sleep, work, study or relationships.
One sign is enough to justify a break. You do not need to wait for a crisis before using limits or seeking support.
5. Ten self-assessment questions
- Have you spent more than your planned entertainment budget?
- Do you stay logged in longer than intended?
- Have you increased stakes to recover a loss?
- Do you think about gambling while working or trying to sleep?
- Have you hidden deposits, losses or playing time?
- Have you borrowed money or delayed a bill to gamble?
- Do promotions trigger deposits you had not planned?
- Have you broken a limit you set for yourself?
- Has somebody close to you expressed concern?
- Would a month without gambling feel difficult?
Several “yes” answers indicate that stronger controls and independent support are appropriate.
6. Common gambling myths
Myth: A long losing run means a win is due. Random rounds do not compensate for previous outcomes.
Myth: A bonus removes the financial risk. Bonus funds carry wagering, expiry, stake and game rules; they can encourage more play.
Myth: Increasing the stake recovers losses faster. It increases the amount exposed to the next uncertain outcome.
Myth: Skill can predict every casino result. Strategy can affect decisions in limited games, but it cannot remove the house edge or guarantee a win.
7. Financial and device blocking tools
Ask your bank whether gambling-merchant blocks or card controls are available. Gamban and BetBlocker can restrict gambling sites across devices. Remove stored payment credentials, reduce transfer limits and ask a trusted person to help manage household finances if necessary.
BetStop is Australia’s national self-exclusion register for licensed interactive wagering services. Casino controls and external blocking tools can be used together; one does not replace the other.
8. Independent support
| Organisation | Support route |
|---|---|
| Gambling Help Online | gamblinghelponline.org.au and online counselling |
| National Gambling Helpline | 1800 858 858 |
| Lifeline Australia | 13 11 14 for immediate crisis support |
| Gambler’s Anonymous Australia | gamblersanonymous.org.au |
| GamCare | gamcare.org.uk |
| Gambling Therapy | gamblingtherapy.org |
If there is an immediate risk of self-harm or harm to another person, contact emergency services on 000.
9. Support for family and friends
Do not lend money to cover gambling losses. Protect shared accounts, cards and devices, document concerning transactions, and seek confidential advice for yourself. Support works best when it combines clear financial boundaries with professional help rather than repeated promises to stop.
10. Our responsibilities
We provide account controls, process self-exclusion and marketing requests, verify age and identity, train support staff to recognise risk indicators, preserve relevant records and review account activity when player-protection concerns arise. We can restrict activity or request information where legal, security or safer-gambling duties require it.
11. Contact us about a control
Open 24/7 live chat or email [email protected]. Use the registered email, name the control requested and state the amount or period clearly. Never include your password or full payment credentials.
